Terramare, living by the sea, indoors and out

Natural materials, light tones and spaces that flow into the outdoors define a home overlooking the marina canal in Lignano Sabbiadoro.

Terramare is located in the Isola Punta Faro area of Lignano Sabbiadoro and is the result of the renovation and interior design of a home arranged over four levels. Its name reflects its location: a house rooted on land, yet overlooking the marina canal on one side and the inland landscape on the other. The brief was to create modern, practical and welcoming interiors, defined by light, warm tones and able to convey the feeling of being by the sea. Rather than pursuing a luxurious effect, the project creates a natural atmosphere through pieces of wood collected along the Tagliamento river, shells and handcrafted accessories. These are complemented by coral-themed wallpaper, designed by interior designer Monica Soncin and used in both the living area and the guest bathroom. One of the key aspects of the project is the complete opening between the dining room and the terrace, creating a continuous space overlooking the canal, with the boat moored at the pontoon directly in front of the house.
Particularly significant is the decision to bring Bath-Living into the living area, using it to create a corner composition with two different depths. A solution that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of bathroom furniture and demonstrates the collection’s design flexibility, adapting to different functions and settings and fitting naturally into spaces dedicated to everyday living and entertaining.

A project by interior designer Monica Soncin

Monica Soncin was born in Sacile in 1973, lives in Porcia and works at Oecus studio. After graduating from the Istituto d’Arte with a specialisation in advertising graphics, she began her professional career in the furniture industry as an art buyer, working on photographic sets, showrooms and exhibition stands for trade fairs in Bologna, Verona and Milan. Her direct experience with furniture, materials and interior settings laid the foundations for a career that led her to specialise in interior design.
Her graphic design background and experience in the world of imagery can still be seen in the way she creates spaces, working with the relationship between colours, furniture and decorative details. In Terramare, this approach is also expressed through the coral-themed wallpaper, designed entirely by Monica to create a distinctive feature and establish a visual connection between the living area and the guest bathroom.

A conversation about Edoné with Monica Soncin

Among the various solutions available on the market, what convinced you to choose Edoné for this project?
What convinced us first and foremost was the breadth of the range and the aesthetic quality of the solutions, which allowed us to select products suited to the different spaces without losing consistency throughout the project. Added to this are the attention to detail, product quality and, above all, the company’s willingness to work alongside us on bespoke elements, providing practical support throughout the development of the project.

Was there a specific requirement during the project where Edoné’s extensive customisation options proved particularly useful?
The most specific requirement concerned the Bath-Living composition in the dining room. The corner configuration and the two different depths allowed us to reduce the overall footprint in the section where less space was available, while maintaining functionality and continuity in the design.

What is your favourite detail among the Edoné solutions used in the project?
My favourite detail is the Apollo Totem chosen for the guest bathroom. It combines the washbasin and storage in a compact unit that works well with the decorative mirror and the illuminated Tauro shelf without making the space feel heavy.

How did you first discover our brand?
We were already familiar with Edoné and had used its solutions in other projects. Our previous experience with the company meant that we approached Terramare knowing we could rely on an extensive range, product quality and support that would also be available for bespoke requirements.
