Venice, essentials take shape through material and light

In Venice, an apartment is reinterpreted through continuous surfaces, calibrated light and a staircase that becomes architecture within architecture.

Topic: Inspirations

In the most intimate heart of Venice, away from the main paths, this project is based on a clear choice, to remove rather than to add. The existing apartment has been stripped of everything unnecessary and brought back to an essential principle. Material builds the space, while light gives it form and depth.
Floors, wall coverings and the staircase are conceived as a continuous system. Surfaces follow one another seamlessly, defining a compact and coherent environment, where every element is controlled and never intrusive. The result is not minimalism for its own sake, but a precise balance between solids and voids.
The staircase is the core of the project. It is not an added element, but a carved volume, a solid block that organizes the space around it. Paths narrow and open, perspectives shift, guiding the eye in a natural yet always intentional way.
Light is an integral part of the project. It runs along the walls, settles into cuts and follows level changes. It remains discreet, yet is fundamental in giving depth, enhancing surfaces and activating the continuity of material.
Within this balance, the bathroom spaces with Edoné solutions integrate seamlessly into the overall material and chromatic continuity of the project. Material finishes, warm metals and glass introduce measured variations, adding depth without altering the overall balance.
The result is a quiet and controlled space, where material and light define the architecture.

A project by Caprioglio Architects

Caprioglio Architects was founded in 1999 and has developed a coherent path based on design rigor and attention to context. The studio operates mainly at a national level, working across different scales, from private residential projects to public complexes, alongside international experiences and work in industrial design.
At the core of its approach lies a clear principle, the project must be a response, not a gesture for its own sake. Each intervention is developed with almost tailor-made precision, from spatial definition to construction detail. Sustainability, design culture and execution quality are not abstract statements, but operational criteria.
Over the years, the studio has received numerous awards, becoming a reference for an architecture that combines technical research and compositional control, while remaining closely connected to the real needs of those who inhabit the spaces.

A few words about Edoné, with Caprioglio Architects

Among the various solutions on the market, what convinced you to choose Edoné?
I had the opportunity to visit the company and its production, realizing the quality and craftsmanship behind the products, a very important factor that led me to choose Edoné.

Was there a specific need during the project where Edoné’s high level of customization proved particularly useful?
Absolutely yes. Finishes and colors were customized to support the mood of the project, with natural elements and tones aligned with the contemporary Venetian concept we were aiming for.

What is your favorite detail of the Edoné solutions you used?
I was particularly impressed by the precision in combining different materials, such as glass and natural wood, resulting in a bathroom unit that is both unique and clean, with a strong sense of quality.

How did you discover our brand?
It started from a fortunate coincidence linked to a previous project, where the client knew one of the founders of the brand. That’s how we discovered Edoné. I had a very positive experience both during the design phase and the execution, and from there a collaboration naturally developed, which I chose to continue in this new project.
