PB Farmhouse is conceived as a new construction set within the rolling hills of Maremma, where natural topography and spontaneous vegetation form the foundation of the design process. From the outset, the relationship with the context is approached not as a simple insertion, but as an active interpretation of the place.
The orientation and positioning of the volumes have been carefully studied to preserve the continuity of existing ecological corridors, composed of native vegetation. The horizontal development, arranged on a single above-ground level, allows the building to maintain a discreet presence within the landscape, with the Argentario promontory as a constant natural backdrop.
The floor plan is organized into three distinct yet connected volumes: the main body hosts the living area, while two smaller volumes accommodate the sleeping area and the kitchen. The connection between these spaces is achieved through transparent elements: two glazed volumes define light transitions while maintaining a clear readability of the architectural composition.
The choice of materials further strengthens the connection with the territory, defining a contemporary architecture capable of engaging with the landscape in a discreet and balanced way.
123ArchitectureOffice develops architectural and interior design projects with a strong focus on context and the relationship between built space and landscape. The studio’s work is based on a careful approach to proportions, materials, and the perceptual quality of spaces, with the aim of creating contemporary architectures capable of dialoguing with their surroundings.
In residential projects, particular attention is given to the creation of coherent and balanced spaces, where architecture, furnishings, and materials contribute to defining a unified language. The pursuit of balance between design rigor, technical quality, and aesthetic sensitivity is one of the defining elements of the studio’s approach.
Among the various solutions available on the market, what led you to choose Edoné?
We chose Edoné because it represents a strong balance between construction quality, aesthetic research, and design flexibility. In this project, the bathroom was not conceived as a simple service space, but as an identity-driven environment, consistent with the overall architectural language. Edoné allowed us to work with material finishes, precise proportions, and contemporary solutions, while maintaining a high level of technical reliability.
Was there a specific need during the project where Edoné’s customization played a strategic role?
Yes, customization was crucial, particularly in managing proportions and spatial constraints. In this project, we needed to optimize the available space without compromising the overall aesthetic impact. The possibility to work on dimensions, finishes, and modular combinations allowed us to seamlessly integrate the bathroom furniture into the architectural design, avoiding standard solutions that would have compromised the overall balance of the space.
What is your favorite detail of the Edoné solutions you used?
We particularly appreciated the formal clarity combined with the attention to construction details: calibrated thicknesses, integrated washbasin tops, the quality of finishes, and the balance between solid and void volumes. These are elements that do not seek to dominate visually, but instead convey a sense of measured and contemporary elegance, fully aligned with the character of the project.
How did you discover our brand?
As a studio, we became familiar with Edoné through the design world and specialized bathroom retailers. Over time, we have had the opportunity to explore the brand more deeply and appreciate the consistency between its image, product quality, and support for designers—an essential aspect in managing bespoke residential projects.
